New Business
Tustin Tot Lot
- Time to do the annual tot lot cleanup
- Volunteers needed
- Someone to test and see if any of the USB ports need replaced
- People to replace faulty ports and do a clean-up of the solar chargers
- Planning group to come up with a new way to have art in the park that’s in keeping with the original plan
- Original artwork (colorful tiles hanging from chain links) has disappeared because the local kids really love pulling them down
- There’s a Slack channel called #tustin_playground
Volunteer Opportunities

- Woodworkers
- Sean is organizing a cabal of people to plan the reorganization and smoother running of the wood shop
Garage area is very cluttered
- While some stuff needs to be stored in front of the garage door, a lot of it can go elsewhere
- If you have items there that either need parking permits or need to go home with you, please take care of that ASAP
- DeWalt Planer needs to be restored so that we can sell it
Hack Sustainability
- Treading water with income and expenses
- Currently have about 2 1/2 months of expenses in the shop
- We cannot approve any large expenses outside of general operating items and safety improvements unless we have 6 months of operations money in the bank
- If there are items that we want now they need to be entirely bankrolled by members
- Cannot take on too many more liabilities in terms of maintenance
- Talk to Sean if:
- There’s something that you want to do volunteer-wise that will improve shop running
- You’re an expert in a particular area or on a certain tool and can help with its operation
- Talk to Sean if:
- Lucian’s idea
- Recently went on a trip to Rochester where he toured their makerspace
- Different sections of the shop had signs with people’s photos and contact info identifying them as being mentors and people who were responsible for those areas
Power Wheels
- Historically Hack has participated in the Power Racing Series
- Inspired by the concept of the 24 Hours of Lemons
- Take a Power Wheels kids ride-on toy and put it on a 2 HP electric go-kart for less than $500 and go racing
- Hack’s DeLorean Power Wheels won in 2014
- Let’s do it again!
- Geno is interested in leading the team
- Message him if you’re interested
- Sean has the expertise to do most of the drive-line stuff
- Looking for anyone who wants to participate in any way
