Hey, I'm Nick Pinkston. I love all things tech, but my background is mostly automotive and manufacturing processes. I'm more at home soldering up boards than programming them to work, but the Arduino is changing that. I fully believe that the democratization of technology will empower humanity to do great things. I'm think our hacker space is a step in the right direction.

Skills

  • Automotive: I'm comfortable doing anything mechanically to a car, electronics / tuning, but don't let me near body work.
  • Fabrication: I'm an amateur TIG welder. I can do mild & stainless. I'd love to get aluminum working too. (I have a machine if we need it).
  • Digital Fabrication: I'm familiar with CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting / etching, but I need more hands on time with the technology.
  • Electronics: I can solder pretty well, enough that'd I'd teach a class. I'm an amateur at Arduino stuff, but I really want to learn more. I'm an analog guy thus far, I'm hoping Arduino can move me in the 21st century.
  • Programming: Scares me, but I'm anxious to learn more. Getting good at wiring language is my short term goal.
  • Pyro: I know a thing or two about making model rockets, rocket fuel, etc.
  • Marketing & Sales: I guess I'm supposed to be good at this.
