Announcements

Shop Clean

  • April 30th at noon
  • Pizza will be provided
  • As always, if you want to do chores and can’t make the clean there’s a sign-up list posted on cubbies next to the Jumonville door
    • Be sure to date when you do the task so we don’t duplicate things that have been done recently

Trash Night

  • Still need people to sign up for trash nights
    • Saturdays
    • Can be during the day
    • Goes against the wall in the parking area
  • Link is posted in #general
  • There’s a list of trash cans taped to the lockers in the kitchen
  • Also need people every other Monday to gather up recycling and take it to Alisa’s house

Anonymous Reporting Stickers

  • We will be putting stickers around the shop with a QR code to our anonymous reporting page
    • While we don’t punish people for reporting that tools are broken, we understand how some people might still be reluctant to come forward to say they broke something
  • If you break a tool or discover that a tool is already broken, please report it so we can get it fixed!

Treasurer’s Report

  • Bank: $5192.27
  • PayPal: $464.54
  • A bunch of stuff has gotten more expensive
    • Wild Apricot is now $75/month
    • Insurance went up
    • Consumables more expensive

Old Business

Tustin Update

  • Alisa went to the Tot Lot
    • Wifi is down
    • Only 1 of the 16 USB ports is working
  • Volunteers needed
    • Someone comfortable with ladders to turn on the wifi
      • There’s a video with instructions made by Adam Longwill that you can watch to learn what to do
    • Need to bring the solar charging stations back one at a time to refurbish them
      • Alisa needs someone to go upstairs and check to see how many more ports we have to install in the park
      • In the past Kris Kunihiro, Chris McCann, and Jim Keener have helped with doing this
      • There’s a video with instructions made by Adam Longwill that you can watch to learn what to do
    • Committee of people to redesign the artwork, as kids keep taking down our extant art
      • Morgan has some ideas
  • Slack channel is called #tustin_playground
    • Please post any ideas you have for artistic improvements

Power Wheels

  • There is interest in bringing this back
  • Slack channel is called #powpowpowerwheels
  • Alisa’s extended family member is renowned in Fox Kart racing and may be able to give us some insight
  • Discussion was otherwise tabled as Geno was not in attendance

Garage Door Area / Wood Shop

  • Needs cleaned
  • Sean is working with wood shop peoples to update the wood shop and cleaning the garage will be a part of that process
  • Pete filled people in on the wood shop meeting
    • Coming up with policies regarding longer-term storage
    • Redesign of the shop layout
    • Getting rid of garage door clutter
    • Laid the groundwork for future meetings
  • Alisa reminded attendees that the Board gets a lot of complaints about there not being Parking Tickets on things, but we don’t know things need parking tickets if people don’t tell us
  • One design idea is to calculate how much distance each tool needs to be safely operated and using CAD software to help design the layout
    • Can use this to have multiple tools using the same out-feed on the dust collector
  • When people create their designs they need to take into account the new footprint that our bathroom will have after it’s made accessible
    • Alisa will share plans with people on Slack so they can see the updated dimensions

COVID Mandates

  • It’s been a while since we last discussed our mask mandate
  • Current policy: No one will be permitted inside with symptoms of a cough/fever/cold/chills. Anyone who is unvaccinated is required to wear a mask at all time. No exceptions.
  • There’s been a proposal for classes and public events to allow unvaccinated people to do a COVID test the day of the event and, if negative, go unmasked at the shop
  • The Board will make a final decision on this, but we want to hear what Members have to say about the policy
    • Anonymous survey will be sent out to all members to vote on whether they want to add this to our policy or leave things as they were
    • There will be a comments section for people to anonymously share their thoughts
    • Poll will be posted in a couple of days and will be up for a week
    • After that, the Board will make a final decision on what our policy will be and announce it at the next Members Meeting
