Laser Cutter Checklist
Other Reminders
- Prepare Design File
- Open file with Laser Cut Pro
- Set powers/speeds/cut-or-engrave in Laser Cut Pro
- Test design with "Simulate" button in Laser Cut Pro
- Prepare Machine
- Reset timer box to zero (press button)
- Check bed for obstructions before turning on physical key
- Turn on physical key and twist physical E-Stop button
- watch laser head home (zero to X & Y)
- Z-register the bed
- Position material, check for obstruction risks from material
- Close lid
- Download Design to Laser Cutter
- Click "Download" in Laser Cut Pro
- Click "Del All" in Laser Cut Pro Download dialog
- Click "Download Current" in Laser Cut Pro Download dialog
- Test Material and Design
- Visual check laser nozzle for obstructions
- Test material centered: press physical "Test" button, watch laser path
- Turn on Air & Coolant (black and yellow power strip)
- Check for nozzle air flow.
- Close Lid
- Run Job
- Pick up fire extinguisher and then put it back down
- Press physical "Start" button.
- Monitor laser until job is complete, be ready to hit big red E-Stop button
- Keep lid closed AT ALL TIMES other than when doing tasks that require opening lid.
- Finishing
- Remove wood
- Clean up scraps
- Check timer box, write donw time, pay for laser time
- Check & clean laser cutter internal vent
- Check & clean blower fan vent
Laser Cutter Safety Checklist
- Check bed for any possible obstructions before using
- Make sure air & coolant are running
- Keep lid closed when running
- Locate fire extinguisher, pick it up and put it down
- Check the Big Red E-Stop
- You MUST monitor laser cutter while it is running.

- excessive smoke in general may indicate
- smeared burns or poor cutting performance
- visible smoke rising from the cut point rather than being sucked away underneath
- brighter light from the cut point
- frequent orange sparks
