* Allegheny County is still "green", despite a large resurgence in COVID cases. Our commitment to member safety is absolutely paramount.
* We have been having consistent, SAFE, successful tours!
** Everyone will be required to maintain 6 ft of distance, wear masks, hand wash, etc.
** COVID is still going strong and with flu season returning, both flu and COVID numbers have increased.
** We will now be allowing ten people in the dirty side of the shop, and ten people on the "clean" side of the shop.
** It is more important than EVER to wear your mask ALL THE TIME, practice handwashing/sanitize your hands, and disinfect work surfaces before and after you use them.
* We need to put up new laminated signs outside the doors.
*** We have had complaints about people not wearing masks. WEAR THEM.
* Please use Skedda for reservations.
*** If you are eating or drinking, lower your mask only for the time you consume food and beverages, wash your hands, and then raise your mask again.
** You do not have to reserve space for the conference tables and the lounge.

** Tours are still by appointment only. Please sign up to help the Board out!
* The five sanitation kits are being used often! YAY! Becky has obtained

* We are in the process of looking into getting a dumpster for the shop.
* Garbage/dumpster
* Josh Inklovich would like to bring in young adults and obtain a grant (possibly fulfilling the grant obligation of the McAuley Ministries Grants)
** Unfortunately, the Waste Management dumpster we were looking into is not available (commercially) at our address.
* Alex would like to crowdfund the Anycubic MonoX resin printer. It's on sale currently for $580.
** We don't have the money to currently get a dumpster, but until then we will look into other options.
** We have run into restrictions with our current resin printers and this new would would allow us to do much more.
** The wood and metal shop has consistently had trash with no trash bags. ONLY the one bin marked clearly "DO NOT USE A LINER" should be the one without a liner. When you take out the trash, replace it with a liner.
** The Foam & Fiber Group have run into the same restrictions and are interested in raising money for this printer.
** Trash is taken out on Monday nights, but ALWAYS pay attention to the CoP calendar - the last few weeks, recycling was not taken out with the trash.
* Classes. WE NEED THEM.
* SHOP CLEAN
** We have several teachers who want to teach classes:
** This month's shop clean is this coming Sunday, October 25th. It will be ALL DAY. Please come in and help out! Focus will be on the storage room.
*** Welding (Paul and Kiefer are excited to teach, and both teach different types of welding)
* Thank you for those who have donated towards the resin printer and/or the flu shot clinic.
*** Cassie's woodworking class
** We are a little under halfway towards funding the resin printer. The shop cannot afford to purchase it outright, so we have been fundraising it internally. We have raised $350 so far and it costs $630.
*** Asher wants to teach several classes
* October has been a really successful month for classes, and we have a few more!
*** CPR/AED/First Aid
** We have two welding classes (Stick and MIG) scheduled for November, as well as Adam's computer-building class
** We are looking into offering virtual classe`s for topics such as arduinos and computer-building.
** The flu clinic was a great success!
* The new 3D printer (donated!) is up and running!
*** 17 adult flu shots, 3 children flu shots, and 3 pneumonia vaccines were given. Steelers game was a mitigating factor...
* The laser tube arrived last week. In PIECES. Insurance covered it, so we are awaiting shipping information. So far we haven't received any updates.
*** We want to do more things like this in the future, including a warm clothing drive VERY soon.
* SHOP CLEAN: The next shop clean is going to be on Sunday, September 27th. We want to focus on cleaning and organizing the storage room as well as the back of the metal shop.
* Magic Wheelchair
** For social distancing purposes, we want to cap EACH group at four to six people. Please email or tag the board if you'd like to volunteer/participate.
** We need a volunteer to pick up Emily's wheelchair on Thursday or Friday. Gas and expenses will be paid (as it is in Parker, PA 1.5 hours away).
* Printing limits will be imposed. Probably a daily 50pp cap.
* Folks have been discussing updating/replacing/disposing of the shop's library. Discuss.
* THE LASER TUBE IS IN!
** Sean's updates on the laser.

* We have exactly $6460.90 (including PayPal funds and our bank account)
* We have $6,721 in the bank and $1,585 in PayPal. That's $8,306 total.
* Thank you for those who have donated anything, laser tube or general.
** About $300 of that will be going to Hilltop Pharmacy to reimburse for those who could not pay for their flu shots.
** Obviously, we've been down a significant revenue stream because of the laser. But that will change soon!
* My goal is to reach $10,000 by the new year. Perhaps another "Justa Cuppa"-type fundraiser.
** If we reach this goal, we will be financially stable enough to afford a dumpster.

** Becky still wants to hold some sort of creative fundraiser. Even a "small" goal of $1,000 would be a great help.

* HackPGH will still be operating on a restricted budget where possible.
* However, the shop is completely stocked! This includes food, drink, bottled water, and cleaning supplies. This came at no cost to the shop. It was donated by the Zajdel family and their friends at Tyler Mountain Spring Water.

*** We will be erecting a large sign reminding members about laser rules. If necessary, we will put a RFID lock & payment system on the laser.

* Children aged seven and under are NOT allowed in the shop, even with a parent or guardian. This is for their safety and for the good of the organization, as it allows us to keep our insurance.
* Garbage
** Garbage CANNOT be placed in the alley (Watson Street). It MUST be taken up and around in front of the building on Fifth Avenue every Monday night for Tuesday AM pickup! We were fined last week because multiple bags were left in Watson Street. We have garbage guidelines as well as the city pickup/recycling calendar posted on the white board right inside the Jumonville entrance.
