Shop Updates

  • PSAs
    • We spoke to our insurance broker and our attorney and we CANNOT allow children between the ages of six and seventeen. All other minors must ALWAYS be accompanied by a guardian and sign the special guardian/minor liability waiver form!
    • Becky will be updating the garbage/recycling calendar: we need volunteers! Please ensure that you take out BOTH garbage and recycling (according to the calendar), including the cardboard bins!
    • The Board of Directors also need volunteers for our bi-weekly tours and training! Please speak the board so that we can put you on the calendar!
    • This is the 3rd time money has gone missing (between a few dollars to over ten) from the change box. That privilege has now been taken away.
    • Dave's 3D Printer does not take glue. If you put glue on it, you're doing it wrong.
    • Clean up after yourselves. This is a safety issue!
    • Be sure to sign the HackPGH Release digitally by signing into members.hackpgh.org and clicking on your profile.
  • Non-Hack related PSA
  • Old Table Saw
    • Chad put it on the Facebook Market Place for $400
  • Outreach
    • Tustin Tot Lot
      • We will be signing the final contract and presenting the project to the City proper on the 28th.
  • Shop Improvements
    • Thanks the Baughman Family for a grant of $3,737.77! Thanks to Rob for working so hard on this!
      • We now have new electricity running throughout in the shop
        • 240 ran on each wall in the shop area
        • Ceiling outlets for hanging reels added.
      • We will be adding dust collection soon!
        • Full piping using the larger dust collector and particulate filtering.
  • Heat on Shop Side.
    • Resolved. Dale installed a large heater on the shop side.
  • Tools
    • New router table on table saw. The fence for the table saw is NOT the fence for the router!!!
    • If you want to be trained on the wood lathe, you MUST be trained by Chris Knipple! It has been lent, not donated, to our shop by him.
      • CW has donated some nice lathe tools! Thanks, CW!
    • Our new lens for the laser cutter will be coming in soon!

Project Updates

  • Beebo wants to start a Cosplay Meetup! Contact him for more information.
  • Marty wants to work on a cedar box that can withstand the elements.
  • Tom is working on a physical (metal) model to demonstrate expressions.
  • Chad made a Twang! It's a dungeon controller and simple, but neat.
