  • April 16th - Railroad Club
    • 2 people came.
    • Designed layout.
    • Need storage space for it
    • Possibly need to raise loft near couch about 1 foot

    • 3 people came. Built guitar pedal. Played violin and piano
  • April 19th - Earth Day Build (Switch to Train build wiggle)
    • Built wiggle whiskey train instead

  • Laser Cutter
    • It's working again!
    • Purchased new 55mm lens for finer etching. it's here!

    • 25 cents a minute to use. Pays for power to use it.
  • 3-D Printer
    • Workstation is up!
    • If you want a private class see Eli, Alex, or Chad.
    • Need filament
    • Alex recommends See Me CNC and Ultramachine for filament
  • Foundry project by Alex and Wesley
    • Figured out bare minimum of what is needed during mechanical club.
    • Need bill of materials to buy
    • Alex will send that to info@hackpittsburgh.org
    • Approximately $275 for bare minimum

    • Make google hangouts easier via the server
    • Use raspberry Pi
    • Detect people automatically
    • Store HackPgh documents, github

Old Business

  • Sign Ideas
    • Photo is FINALLY Finished and will be sent out for ideas soon.
    • We are taking ideas from members, send us a sketch, picture
    • Chad will send the photo to the list soon
    • Gene will be sending that out so people can post their ideas.
  • Doug and Val started talking about an Arduino for Artists Class
    • Don't focus on breadboarding, but work on soldering to wires and other Arduino devices.
    • They are working out the details.
  • HackPGH Shop Hack-A-Thon!
    • Lets fix the shop up. Make it better!
    • What issues do we have with the shop?
    • Make something fun and random to be in the shop. (walls etc...)
    • Possibly open to public, but sign a waiver, can't use big power tools
    • May 30th, 12p - 31st 12p.
  • Alex wants to start a mechanical club. Machining, welding, CNC machining,lathe machining, Internal Combustion engines, gears, you get the idea.
    • Starting May 2nd, 1st Sat of Month 1-4pm
    • Will meet first Saturday of every month
  • Mechanical club and waste oil foundry. Will use waste oil. Can make blow torch out of oil. Very cool!
    • Gabe has crucible for this.
    • Big 5 gallon kettles. Insulation, air source, sand for casting.
    • May 2nd, 1pm-4pm
  • Steve had awesome party to celebrate buying of his house. Cookout. Cool nerdy stuff! May 2nd. Darksleep.com/party. HackPgh members are invited.
    • Next party is Halloween. HackPgh members are invited!
    • Steve wants to host brewing party at HackPgh
      • Should happen when its cold. In winter.
  • Jonathan needs equipment for google hangouts and server. Should buy equipment first. Try it. Then we will reimburse you.


New Business

  • Tim Canon Has floor
    • Wants to use shop for Grindhouse sponsored event
    • Want to teach IT skills to low income community
    • Want to do couple of lessons at HackPgh
    • Public event
    • Cant use shop for loud noise projects during this event
  • 501c Tax Exemptions
    • As of 5/6/15 HackPgh is now a Tax Exempt organization
    • IRS granted us higher level of Tax Exemption than previous years as apology.
      • Same as boyscouts, and other similar organizations
    • Civic organization under 501C-4
    • Donations to HackPgh can be listed as business expense if you're a corporation!!!!
    • Big Thank you to Scott^2. Applause!
  • Shop clean
    • 5/9/15
    • 11am-1pm and 1pm-4pm
    • Chad will cook breakfast for first shift
  • Move members meetings from Wed to another day?
    • 1 meeting on Wed and another for people who cant make it Wed?
    • Geno will put it up to vote on SurveyMonkey and send it to list
  • Open Source Brewing
    • Cool projects to brew your own beer
    • Combine arduino, raspberry pi and etc with beer!
    • Fill the kegarator
    • Need to get group together
  • Pittsburgh and Detroit Maker Faire
    • Think of projects
    • Detroit Faire is July 24-26
    • We will send call for makers for Pittsburgh Faire in June
