  • Had a booth with musical Tesla coil and vacuum tube amps. Advertised music club and PGH Maker Faire.

Shop Projects / Updates

• Power wheels
  • Ordering new batteries. Lead Acid. Not Harbor Freight. About $200.
  • No major changes to car for Detroit
  • Eli motions to continue Power Wheels in 2016
    • All members present vote to continue Power Wheels in 2016
  • We need a project manager.
  • 2nd power wheels car
    • Vote on the funds. 1/3 vote Board, 1/3 vote members, 1/3 vote people at Faire.

• CNC Router
• Broken! Oh noes!!!!
  • One of the bearings or brushes is toast.
  • Bob Berger is working on fixing it

• Laser Cutter
  • Out of stock for chiller, Waiting patiently for it to come back in stock.
    • Must use purchased ice due to the water from the ice goes thru the laser.

• 3-D Printer
  • Currently down. Almost ready to come back up.
  • Needs wiring and calibration
  • If you want a private class see Eli, Alex, or Chad.

• Foundry project by Alex and Wesley
  • Waiting for Alex to get build list sent to us.
  • kiln is here for shop use.
  • Alex has BOM done.
  • Please use it for pottery!
  • Talk to Alex to use the kiln
  • kiln will soon have its own wiki page with QR code

• Server
  • Both servers are up and working. Working on static IP addresses.

• Open Source Brewing
  • Waiting for cooler weather for brewing.

Old Business

• Move members meetings from Wed to another day?
  • Result of survey: 13 people voted. Tied at 46.15% between Mon,Tue,Wed,Sat @7:30
  • 2 people voted that Wednesdays don't work for them at all.
    • The members voted to do a trial of 1st Wednesday and 3rd Tuesday

• Detroit Maker Faire
  • Too late for projects for Detroit. Power Wheels is the only accepted project.
  • Detroit Faire is July 24-26
    • We need to see who is going... Like a few days ago... if you want to go you need to talk to us NOW!
    • Powerwheels appearing to be pushed by Locomotive.
    • We will not show projects
    • We need to know who is going to Detroit Maker Faire for power wheels ASAP.
    • Need to figure out hotels ASAP
    • PGH maker faire people are staying at the best western (Same as last year). Book again?
    • Submissions for those who want to come closing tomorrow!!!

• Pittsburgh Maker Faire October 10 and 11.
  • The call for makers is out! GOTO makerfairepittsburgh.com!
  • HackPGH will have a booth with shop projects. You still need to register!

  • Today is the last day for round 1
  • You have until August 15 for round 2

• We need to get rid of some stuff here at the shop.
  • ATM - You have 2 weeks to start a project with it or it goes...
  • Old Oscilloscopes - Recycle?
  • Get rid of vending machine?
    • Vending machine to sell electronics is awesome idea according to most members.
    • Gabe is busy, someone else should work on this project. Lets get it done!
    • By next meeting need to have BOM and what needs to be done to get vending machine working

• New Mill
  • Alex bought it for $600
  • Need extra parts about $100
  • Need to pick it up. An hour north of Pgh. Its heavy.
  • Need to get rid of old useless scrap wood in woodshop area to make room for mill
  • Does shop want to buy it from Alex $700?
    • Wesley motions to buy the Mill, Volker seconds
    • Members vote to buy the mill

• Crafts area
  • Don't put anything in front of any working area!
  • Needs to be more attractive and organized
  • We should be able to show it off
  • Need extension cord for sewing machine

• 2nd power wheels car in addition to Delorean
  • Internal HackPgh competition
  • Have the shop fund the cars?
  • Discussion about EJ motion to the list will be at the next meeting.

• Raspberry Pis connected to the network need a shelf to sit on.

New Business

• Need raspberry pi rack for pi's next to printer
• Need composite connector for projector so we can do google hangouts via raspberry pi server
• John brought in new printer for shop.
  • Lets choose one of the printers to keep, but we need to do research on how much ink costs and etc.
