Member Meeting Minutes for February 3rd, 2021

COVID and TOURS

• We have been having consistent, SAFE, successful tours!
  • COVID is still going strong and with flu season returning, both flu and COVID numbers have increased.
  • It is more important than EVER to wear your mask ALL THE TIME, practice handwashing/sanitize your hands, and disinfect work surfaces before and after you use them.
    • We have had complaints about people not wearing masks. WEAR THEM.
    • If you are eating or drinking, lower your mask only for the time you consume food and beverages, wash your hands, and then raise your mask again.

Shop news

• Elections
  • Nominees: Nolan Cash, Quarae Canady, Adam Longwill, Brian (Beebo)
  • We have two open spots on the Board of Directors.
  • As soon as all four nominees accept or reject the terms, we will post the election on Sunday and voting will commence for one week.

• Trash is going better, Dale's guys have been taking everything no problems. However:
  • Trash is taken out on Monday nights, but ALWAYS pay attention to the CoP calendar - sometimes, recycling is taken out with the trash.
  • Please do not put so much heavy garbage in the dirty side of the shop that even thick contractor bags tear. Use common sense and tie it up at the halfway point.
  • Dust collection system emptying
  • Becky will print out a new Calendar and post it tomorrow
  • We need to write directions about dust collection system on the wiki

  • Monitors are working correctly- there is an error with the server that is preventing viewing. Adam will be working on a resolution.

Shop finances

• We have less than $5,000 in the bank and PayPal.
  • Many members have quit or paused their memberships due to COVID. Unfortuantely, this is understandable and unavoidable.
  • People aren't paying for their laser time.
  • Becky still wants to hold some sort of creative fundraiser. Even a "small" goal of $1,000 would be a great help.
  • We have seen requests for new tools and equipment. We cannot afford that. We are on a shoestring budget that will only include rent, garbage, utilities, repairs, safety/cleaning items, and a small amount of vending.
• Becky is going shopping on Thursday. PM her for vending requests. K-cups and water are always donated. Yes, we will be getting more hot cups!

Rule Reminders

• New rule regarding minors will take effect immediately:
  • Children six and under are never allowed in the shop. Minors aged 7-12 are only permitted in the Clean Side with a parent or guardian. Minors aged 13-17 are permitted on both sides with a parent or guardian present. The only exceptions to this rule are during parties, events, and specific classes where safety measures have taken place (such as unplugging machines, etc.) to ensure child safety.
